Entering into Church Dialogue & Correcting “False Religion Concepts”

Why Enter into Church Dialogue?

In the Chinese churches in Toronto, there have long been some “wrong beliefs”, “misinterpretations of scriptures” and “religious thinking” that sound spiritual but actually go against the truth and violate the conscience, basic principles and common sense given to mankind by God.

The bad consequences are: believers are suppressed in religious thinking and fear, losing peace, courage, discernment and true faith; God’s attributes are distorted; they say “justified by faith” but do not believe in their hearts that they are “justified by faith”; believers are paralyzed by empty talk of scriptures and quoting words.

Believers themselves lack confidence, so how can they “preach the gospel” to others and rise up to shine? Meanwhile, messages that can build lives, address problems, and restore truth and faith are suppressed or ignored, preventing the light of truth from entering the church.

It’s not that no one in the church knows about it, but the overall atmosphere of the church is suppressed by the spirit of religion, trapped by the “old wineskins,” and dominated by erroneous beliefs and concepts. Coupled with people’s “face” and compromise, God’s word is distorted, making people afraid to speak out, and those who speak out are instead besieged.

These “wrong things” and “toxic atmosphere” cannot be changed by silence. They can only be changed by using the Bible and reasonable and well-founded dialogue to point directly to the problems, so that wherever the light reaches, the darkness will naturally disappear.

Specific Approach

Enter the church community and directly communicate, discuss, and dialogue with congregants and pastors, working together.

Point out and correct erroneous beliefs, misinterpretations of Scripture, and inappropriate teaching.

Introduce teachings and resources that can help spiritual growth.

Don’t be afraid of making mistakes; the goal is to benefit others and expand God’s kingdom. Any mistakes along the way are acknowledged and corrected.

Invite you to work together or offer spiritual support.
